My Journey to Becoming Me

image

Yesterday, I was thinking that about my life and the woman I am becoming. I am happy and excited about the woman I am becoming and the journey I am on.  I think more of us should celebrate the women we have become/are becoming. We are all unique.  That is God’s intentional design. As I am on this journey to becoming the woman God intends me to be, I am constantly learning new things – especially about myself.

God is teaching me how to do the hard things (like folding clothes when I’d rather be daydreaming about the next Kingdom Creation 🙂 ), even when I don’t feel like it. He is teaching me that is okay to expose my vulnerable side (to the right people). He is also teaching me that things still turn out ok way better than okay when my life doesn’t go according to my plans. LOL

Today, the preacher said something profound. It is a concept that I’ve heard before (and I’m sure you have too), but today, it was presented in words that stood out to me. He said that God doesn’t give us the blessings we ask for for one of two reasons, 1) He is still preparing us for our blessing or 2) He is still preparing our blessing for us. Honestly, sometimes, it might be a little bit of both. To me, that makes all the sense in the world.

I am where I am on my journey so I can do the many things I do. If I were elsewhere on my journey, I wouldn’t be able to do what I am doing at this moment in time. I’ve always known that about each stage of my journey.  But now, I truly believe and accept it.

As you are on the journey to becoming the you God intends you to be, what have you learned about yourself?

 Amazed by God’s Grace,

 Nefertara

P.S. Happily ever after is all about the preparation.

So, I am opening a business (A Kingdom Creation) with a subsidiary (Sugarcoated) at the beginning of 2014.  A Kingdom Creation is an event planning and management company.  Sugarcoated will sell body products – specifically all natural sugar scrubs that I handmake with love. I have tested, made samples and reviewed the product makeup, and it is just about ready to be shared with the world. 🙂 I have 4 scrubs in my shower as I type – a lip scrub (Chocolate Kiss), a facial scrub (Honey Dew) and 2 body scrubs (Honey Almond and Sugar in the Raw). I am up to my ears in several  different types of sugar, carrier oils (read: safflower, grapeseed, jojoba, etc.), essential oils, vitamin oils, jars, labels, bags and boxes. This is an exciting, nervous and energy filled time! I’ll share more with you in the months to come.
